Subway tunnel
Core requirements
Timely removal of heat, dust, and CO generated by train operation; stable air pressure within the tunnel; guaranteed emergency smoke exhaust; low-energy consumption operation.
Dedicated technical adaptation
• Tunnel Zonal Ventilation and Heat Exchange Ventilation sections are divided according to tunnel segments, and each segment is equipped with a variable-frequency tunnel fan. When a train enters the station, the fan is automatically activated in coordination with a train-position sensor, quickly exhausting the heat and dust generated by the train’s braking system. A tunnel ventilation heat recovery system is employed: in summer, high-temperature air inside the tunnel is thermally exchanged with fresh air supplied to the station’s air-conditioning system, thereby reducing the air-conditioning load; in winter, waste heat is recovered to preheat the incoming fresh air.
• Atmospheric Pressure and Pollutant Control Real-time monitoring of air pressure changes inside the tunnel: When a train passes at high speed and causes air pressure fluctuations, the ventilation system automatically adjusts the airflow to maintain pressure balance, preventing the train doors from failing to open normally. CO and dust sensors are installed at both ends of the platform; when sensor readings exceed the threshold, the air exchange rate between the platform and the tunnel is increased to ensure the health and safety of passengers and staff.
• Emergency Coordination Function It is linked with the subway’s fire protection system and train dispatching system. In the event of a fire or malfunction, the ventilation mode will automatically switch according to the location of the incident, directing smoke and harmful gases away from the area to create a safe evacuation and rescue corridor for personnel. The fans feature a high-temperature-resistant design, enabling them to operate continuously at temperatures up to 280°C for more than one hour.
