Core requirements
Adaptation of multi-format zone ventilation, sufficient fresh air during peak pedestrian flow, energy conservation and consumption reduction, and a balance between odor control and comfort.
Dedicated technical adaptation
• Precise ventilation for business format zoning :
◦ Shopping Area: Independent ventilation subsystems are configured by floor and brand zone, with dual sensors monitoring both temperature/humidity and CO₂ concentration. In summer, the system maintains a temperature of 24–26℃ and humidity of 45%–55%; in winter, the temperature is maintained at 18–20℃, with a CO₂ concentration ≤900 ppm.
◦ Food and Beverage Cluster: A separate ventilation zone is designated for this area. Each restaurant kitchen is connected to the mall’s centralized fume purification system, employing a coordinated “in-store exhaust + make-up air from common areas” approach to maintain a slightly positive pressure in the public spaces of the food and beverage zone, thereby preventing fumes from spreading into the shopping areas.
◦ Cinema and Entertainment Area: The cinema auditorium features a “under-seat air supply + rear-row exhaust” design to prevent direct airflow from blowing onto the audience. In the children’s play area, fresh-air filtration has been enhanced; the fresh air undergoes three-stage treatment—primary filter, medium-efficiency filter, and antibacterial filter—to reduce dust and bacteria while maintaining air circulation and preventing stuffiness.
• Dynamic Energy Saving in Public Spaces :
◦ Atrium and Corridors: Leveraging the spacious, high-ceilinged design of the atrium, we adopt a combined approach of “natural ventilation + mechanical ventilation.” On sunny days, the top electric skylights are opened to facilitate thermal-pressure-assisted exhaust ventilation, thereby reducing the load on mechanical fans. In the corridor areas, induction-based ventilation is configured in “50-meter segments”—when pedestrians pass by, the airflow is locally boosted; during periods when no one is present, the airflow is maintained at its minimum level. Compared to continuous full-load operation throughout the day, this approach achieves energy savings of over 40%.
◦ Underground mall and garage connection area: Install air curtains and transitional ventilation zones at the underground mall entrance to prevent harmful gases from the garage from spreading into the mall.
• Emergency and Operations Support :
◦ Fire-linked ventilation: Seamlessly integrated with the shopping mall’s fire protection system, this system automatically closes the fresh-air inlets in the corresponding zones based on the location of smoke detectors during a fire, while simultaneously activating smoke exhaust fans and fire dampers to direct smoke removal. In conjunction with positive-pressure ventilation in evacuation corridors, this ensures clear visibility and safe evacuation routes.
◦ Intelligent Operations and Maintenance Management: The central control platform monitors in real time the operating status of wind turbines in each zone as well as the service life of filters. When filter resistance exceeds the threshold or a fan malfunctions, the system automatically sends an alert message to operations and maintenance personnel. The system also supports generating energy consumption reports based on business type and time period, providing data support for optimizing ventilation strategies in shopping malls.
