8-09 and 9-12 High-Pressure Centrifugal Fans


The 8-09 model high-pressure centrifugal fan, specially designed for iron-melting furnaces, is suitable for the blowing performance requirements of iron-melting furnaces with melting rates of 1 L/h, 2 L/h, 3 L/h, 5 L/h, and 7 L/h. This fan can also be used for blowing in various types of melting furnaces and forging furnaces, as well as for conveying air and non-corrosive, non-self-igniting gases that do not contain sticky substances. The temperature of the conveyed medium shall not exceed 80°C, and the concentration of dust and hard fine particles in the medium shall not exceed 150 mg/m³.

Usage

The 8-09 model high-pressure centrifugal fan, specially designed for iron-melting furnaces, meets the air-blowing performance requirements of iron-melting furnaces with melting rates of 1 L/h, 2 L/h, 3 L/h, 5 L/h, and 7 L/h. This fan can also be used for air blowing in various types of melting furnaces and forging furnaces, as well as for conveying air and non-corrosive, non-self-igniting gases that do not contain sticky substances. The temperature of the conveyed medium shall not exceed 80°C, and the concentration of dust and hard fine particles in the medium shall not exceed 150 mg/m³.

 

Form

1. Both the 8-09 and 9-12 models of fans are single-inlet types. For the 8-09 model, our factory offers five impeller sizes: №6.8A, 7.1D, 8D, 8.5D, and 9D. For the 9-12 model, our factory offers six impeller sizes: №6.8A, 7.1A, 7.4D, 7.7A, 8D, and 9D.

2. The 8-09 type fans are all of the same type. When viewed from the end of the motor, if the impeller rotates clockwise, the fan is referred to as a “clockwise” rotating fan and denoted by “CW”; if it rotates counterclockwise, the fan is referred to as a “counterclockwise” rotating fan and denoted by “CCW.” The outlet position of the fan is indicated by the angle of the casing’s air outlet. Both “CW” and “CCW” models can be manufactured in three different angles: 0°, 90°, and 180°.

 

Structural features

The 8-09 and 9-12 type fans consist of an impeller, a casing, an air inlet, a transmission assembly, seals, a base frame, and other components.

① Impeller—The blade profile is designed according to the new high-efficiency forward-curved fan theory. After being formed, the impeller undergoes static and dynamic balancing corrections, ensuring smooth and reliable operation.

② Casing — A fully welded, snail-shaped casing made of high-quality galvanized steel sheet.

③ Air inlet— Constructed as an integrated, converging streamlined structure, fixed to the front cover plate with bolts.

④ Transmission Assembly— Composed of the main shaft, bearing housing, coupling, and other components. The main shaft is made of high-quality steel. For models 8-09 Na7.1D and Na8D, rolling bearings are lubricated with grease; for models 8-09 N8.5 and 9, rolling bearings are lubricated with oil.

 

Performance and Selection

1. The parameters listed in the performance table for Model 8-09 fans are calculated based on air conditions at a temperature of t = 20℃, an atmospheric pressure of Pa = 101.3 × 10 Pa, and a gas density of ρ = 1.2 kg/m³.

2. Precautions for Selection: Before purchasing a fan, users should ideally measure the actual operating conditions of the melting furnace (primarily the pressure parameters). Then, select a fan based on the melting rate of the furnace as well as the required air volume and air pressure, ensuring that the purchased fan meets the actual needs and avoiding any mismatch issues.

 

Install

1. Before installation: Thoroughly inspect all components of the fan, and immediately repair any issues found.

2. When installing the fan, it is essential to check the horizontal level of the main shaft and ensure that it meets the requirement of 0.20~1000 mm.

3. The sealing clearance at the inlet of the fan impeller must be strictly controlled. For fans No. 7.1 and 8 in the 8-09 series, the clearance is 1.0–1.5 mm; for fans No. 8.5 and 9 in the 8-09 series and fans No. 8 and 9 in the 9-12 series, the clearance is 1.5–2.0 mm.

4. After installation, test the transmission assembly by manually rotating it to check for any signs of excessive tightness or rubbing against fixed components. If any issues are found, they must be adjusted promptly.

5. Trial Operation: The fan may be put into trial operation only after all installation work has been completed and inspected to ensure there are no issues. Before starting the trial operation, the inlet or outlet damper must first be closed to ensure the fan starts under no-load conditions. Once the fan reaches its normal operating speed and everything appears to be in good condition, the damper can be gradually opened until the fan reaches its rated operating conditions. During the trial operation, the current must be strictly monitored and must not exceed the specified limit. After running for 20 minutes, check whether the temperature rise of the bearing housing is within the normal range—specifically, the temperature rise should not exceed 40°C above the ambient temperature, and the surface temperature should not exceed 70°C.
