Usage
1. The 4–72 centrifugal fan is primarily used for indoor ventilation and air exchange in general factories and large buildings, or for conveying air and other gases that are non-flammable, non-explosive, non-volatile, harmless to humans, and non-corrosive to steel. The B4-72 centrifugal fan can handle the conveyance of flammable and volatile gases. The F4-72 centrifugal fan is mainly used for conveying corrosive gases. However, the gases conveyed by the 4-72, B4-72, and F4-72 centrifugal fans must not contain any viscous substances, and the concentration of dust and hard particulate matter in these gases must not exceed 150 mg/m³. Moreover, the gas temperature must not exceed 80℃.
2. The performance, optional components, and foundation dimensions of the B4-72 fan are identical to those of the 4-72 fan, and can be selected based on its catalog. The fan’s basic structure is essentially the same as that of the 4-72 model. For sizes №2.8A through №6A, motors of type B35 with flanges and foot mounts are used; for sizes №6 through №12C and D, motors from the YB series—corresponding to the Y series listed in the motor selection table—are employed, with installation type B3.
3. The F4-72 centrifugal fan is manufactured using stainless steel, glass fiber reinforced plastic, or other corrosion-resistant materials. Its performance and foundation dimensions are identical to those of the 4-72 centrifugal fan.
4. The 4-72 centrifugal fan is the earliest and also the most widely used fan model in China. From high-rise buildings to subway systems, from boiler blowers to factory ventilation systems, from the northern frontier to the shores of the South China Sea, and from the western plateaus to the eastern coastal regions—4-72 fans can be found everywhere.
Style
1. When viewed from the end of the motor, any impeller rotating clockwise is referred to as a “right-rotating fan” and denoted by “right”; conversely, any impeller rotating counterclockwise is referred to as a “left-rotating fan” and denoted by “left.”
2. The position of the fan’s air outlet is indicated by the angle of the casing’s air outlet. Fans of type 4-72, models №2.8 through №6, are all delivered from the factory in a single standard configuration. The user can install them in the desired position according to specific requirements without needing to specify this when placing an order. Specifically: For model №2.8, the adjustable range of the air outlet position is 0° to 225°, with intervals of 45°; for models №3.2 through №6, the adjustable range is 0° to 225°, with intervals of 22.5°; for models №8 through №12, the adjustable range is 0° to 225°, with intervals of 45°; for models №16 and №20, the air outlet angles are fixed at three preset positions—0°, 90°, and 180°—and cannot be adjusted. These must be specified when placing an order.
3. The fan drive methods are classified into four types: A, B, C, and D. Among the 4-72 type fans, models №2.8 through №5 use Type A drive; model №6 features both Type A and Type C drives; models №8 through №12 employ either Type C or Type D drive; and models №16 through №20 utilize Type B drive.

Structure
The 4-72 centrifugal ventilators, models №2.8A to №6A, mainly consist of components such as an impeller, casing, air inlet, and motor. Models №6C and №8 through №20, in addition to the aforementioned components, also include a transmission section.
① Impeller—Composed of 10 backward-curved airfoil blades, a curved shroud, and a flat back disk, it is manufactured from steel plates (or cast aluminum alloy for B4-72). After undergoing static and dynamic balancing corrections and overspeed operation tests, it boasts high efficiency, smooth and reliable operation, and excellent aerodynamic performance.
② Casing—Available in two different designs: For models No. 2.8 to 12, the casing is made as a single piece and cannot be disassembled. For models No. 16 to 20, the casing is designed as a three-part structure. In addition to being horizontally divided into two halves, the upper half is further vertically divided into two equal sections along the centerline and connected by bolts, allowing the impeller to be inserted or removed easily during installation and maintenance.
③ Air inlet—Made as an integral structure and mounted on one side of the fan, with a curved cross-section parallel to the axial direction. Its function is to ensure smooth airflow into the impeller with minimal losses.
④ Transmission—comprising the main shaft, bearing housing, rolling bearings, pulleys, or couplings.
