4-68 Centrifugal Fan

The 4-68 centrifugal fan can be used for indoor ventilation and air exchange in general factories and large buildings. It can both supply and exhaust air. The gases conveyed should be air at temperatures not exceeding 80℃, as well as other non-flammable, non-harmful to humans, and non-corrosive to steel materials. The gases must not contain any viscous substances, and the concentration of dust and hard particulate matter in the gas must not exceed 150 mg/m³.

Usage

The 4-68 centrifugal fan can be used for indoor ventilation and air exchange in general factories and large buildings. It can both supply and exhaust air. The gases conveyed should be air at temperatures not exceeding 80℃, as well as other non-flammable, harmless to humans, and non-corrosive gases to steel materials. The gases must not contain any viscous substances, and the concentration of dust and hard particulate matter in the gas must not exceed 150 mg/m³.

Type TYPE

1. This fan is typically designed with a single-inlet configuration, and its model numbers include: No. 2.8, 3.15, 3.55, 4, 4.5, 5, 6.3, 8, 10, 12.5, 16, and 20—altogether twelve model numbers.

2. The fan can be manufactured in either a right-hand or left-hand rotation type. When viewed from the end of the motor, if the impeller rotates clockwise, the fan is referred to as a right-hand fan and denoted by “right”; conversely, if it rotates counterclockwise, the fan is referred to as a left-hand fan and denoted by “left”.

3. The outlet position of the fan is indicated by the angle of the casing’s air outlet. Both “left” and “right” can be configured in six angles: 0°, 45°, 90°, 135°, 180°, and 225°.

4. The fan drive methods are classified into four types: A, B, C, and D. For models No. 2.8 to 5, Type A is used, featuring direct coupling between the motor and the fan; the fan impeller and casing are directly mounted onto the motor shaft and flange (the motor is of type D2/T2). For models No. 6.3 to 12.5, a cantilever support structure is employed, which is further divided into two drive types: Type C (belt drive, with pulleys located outside the bearings) and Type D (driven by a coupling). For models No. 16 and 20, a Type B cantilever support structure is used, with belt drive and pulleys positioned midway between the bearings.

Structural features

1. The No. 2.8A to 5A models of the 4-68 type fan mainly consist of an impeller, a casing, an air inlet, and are directly connected to a motor via a coupling.

2. No. 6.3~20: In addition to the parts mentioned above, there is also a transmission section:

① Impeller—Composed of 12 backward-curved, airfoil-shaped blades welded between an arc-conical shroud and a flat disc. All blades are made of steel plates and have undergone static and dynamic balancing as well as overspeed operation testing. The impeller exhibits excellent aerodynamic performance, high efficiency, and smooth operation.

② Casing — The casing is a volute-shaped structure welded from ordinary steel plates. The casing comes in two different designs: for models №2.8 to №5, the casing is integral and cannot be disassembled; for models №16B and №20B, the casing is designed as a three-part type. In addition to being divided into two halves along the horizontal mid-plane, the upper half is further divided into two equal parts along the vertical centerline and connected by bolts, allowing the rotor to be vertically lifted out for maintenance purposes.

③ Air inlet—Designed as a streamlined, converging structure integrated as a whole and secured to the fan inlet side with bolts.

④ Transmission Assembly — Composed of a main shaft, bearing housing, rolling bearings, pulleys, or couplings, among other components. The main shaft is machined from high-quality steel. For models No. 6.3 to No. 12.5, the bearing housing features an integral structure and is equipped with a thermometer and oil level indicator. For models No. 16B and No. 20B, the fans are fitted with two parallel bearing housings, each housing equipped with a thermometer, and lubricated using bearing grease.

Scope of Complete Sets for Stand-Alone Units

1. The transmission method is Type A: one fan, one matching motor, and one set of anchor bolts (4 sets).

2. The transmission method is Type C or Type B: one fan, one matching motor, one set of motor slide rails (2 sets), and one set of anchor bolts (4 sets for No. 6.3, and 8 sets for No. 8 and above). One motor belt and one set of V-belts.

3. The transmission method is Type D: one fan, one matching motor, and one set of anchor bolts (4 sets for No. 6.3, and 8 sets for No. 8 and above). One coupling.

4. Implement according to the agreement reached by both parties.
